The Mission
Our mission is to provide the homeless in McLeod County with short-term housing so that they can work with service providers to achieve their goal of self-sufficiency.
The Strategy
We provide a fully furnished unit for an individual and their family’s immediate needs for shelter. A safe place to call home gives the client the stability needed to work with service providers to find work, apply for assistance programs, located housing, and address other barriers that are keeping them from being self-sufficient. All clients are required to work closely with a UCAP (United Community Action Partnership) self-sufficiency case manager to set and pursue goals toward being self-sufficient.
HOMES currently maintains three units in Hutchinson, Minnesota. Our desire is to expand the number and locations of apartments that we can make available to people and families who are homeless. Your financial support is key to cotinuing to provide safe, stable short-term housing so that homeless and become self-sufficient.
The Results
The average stay in one of our apartments is 30 days and we have seen 76% of households successfully transition into permanent housing.
